Google banned eleven million websites
Recently Google has done some cleaning up and deleted from the search system 11 million untrustworthy websites. But do not worry only the websites from the domain zone *.co.cc were deleted. They are property of a Korean company that gave away domain addresses for free and in packs for a very low price. The head of the anti-search spam division of Google said that they have been waiting a long time to finally close untrustworthy hosting. Especially when a large number of websites is spreading viruses, search spam and other malicious software. This of course is not the first hosting ban, but is definitely the largest one yet. The reason of the ban is simple, the websites were phishing sites (there free viruses with worms on board are spread), link trash websites. The zone *.co.cc – эare not officially registered domains of the second level, something like .com.au or .co.uk. The registration of this domain is offering free single sub-domains which allow the registration of 15 thousand domains in one time, for only a thousand dollars, or for seven cents for each name. The company says that they have 5 731 278 user accounts and 11 383 736 registered domains. The domain .сс of the highest level is the property of a small Australian territory which is located in the Indian Ocean and the Coconut Islands. According to the date of Anti-Phishing Working Group, during the second half of 2010, the domain .сс has made 4963 phishing attacks and this is almost two times more than other domain names. The specialists of Web Seo Promo fully support Google’s decision!
