Google has developed a new tool that is now a part of Google Webmaster Tools, and its task - is informing web masters about hacked websites under control, and the placement of harmful programs.
Website administrators can receive data about intrusion by entering the Webmaster Tools system. The new program can alert about the placement of harmful JavaScript-, HTML- и Flash-code.
Even more, this innovative technology can alert exactly what the code is and provide information on how to get rid of it along with helpful links. Google has already been scanning websites for a long time when they are indexing the Web. When the system sees that a website has harmful programs it makes a notice to the search index so that Google knows the fact of intrusion. The same features have been already developed by Google Chrome и Mozilla Firefox.
This is very handy because this new development can privately inform the administrator about website intrusion. Additionally to this, Google tells us that a separate program can be used for finding the source of the virus.
«Of course, information about website infection is more useful to the users of the website, but studies show that most of the time the administrator of the website doesn't know about the infection of the website, hackers just use unsecure access to the server», - explained the Google engineer Lucas Ballard.
«In the past couple of years we have often come to the conclusion that the owners of the websites who have not noticed the harmful code have then infected their computer. It is because of old software, simple passwords for access – all of this increases the risk of infection», - he continues.
This program is not an antivirus, but in the process of cleaning viruses it is the main starting point.
